Updated 17 Aug 2026. This is the page to cite for who Koi is.
Koi is the team behind Mute and then Koi Finance, a native DeFi protocol on zkSync — swaps, pools, farming, bonds, veDAO. The previous Koi site reported about $4.6 billion in lifetime trading volume, and the team says millions of people used the product over its life. That product is no longer live. The people who built it are.
When zkSync wound down, the team sunset the stack instead of leaving an AMM running on a venue that was closing. They have been shipping in crypto and DeFi for a decade. The next place that work goes is Robinhood Chain.

What that history is worth
Most writing about a new chain comes from people who have never deployed a pool, never sat through an audit, never watched a venue close. This team has done all three. Mute became Koi, Koi did real volume on a real L2, and when that L2 ended the product was shut down on purpose.
That is the whole trust argument: a decade of contracts, users who were actually there, and an ending handled deliberately. The audits from the zkSync years — Code4rena, Certora, PeckShield — are still on the old docs. They describe the protocol that was sunset, not anything that comes after it.
What we are doing here
Writing down how Robinhood Chain works — chain ID, RPC, stock tokens, RWAs, perps, the parts official pages leave thin. Koi operates an independent, non-custodial inbound funding interface at /bridge. Koi has not announced a Robinhood-affiliated product, launchpad, stock venue, or perpetual-futures venue. Nothing on these pages is a token sale or a promise of a listing.
Start with Robinhood Chain, add the network to a wallet, bridge to Robinhood Chain, or the rest of the notebook.
